About this Event

A Fairy Tale - Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 4pm

How can a story inspire a composer to create a musical version of it? How does having a narrator affect the way we listen to a musical story? Come hear excerpts from “The Happy Prince” by composer, Colin Pip Dixon, who will be there to share the backstory.

This concert is part of our series Community Concerts for Kids which is a concert series created with our youngest audience members in mind. All concerts are interactive, 60 minutes in length, and are FREE to all who attend. All ages are welcome!

At the concert you will meet -

Teaching Artist Hosts: Barbara Podgurski (piano) and Katie Kresek (violin)

Guest Artists: Colin Pip Dixon (violin), Arnaud Ghillebaert (viola), Kathryn Brunhaver (cello) and MacIntyre Dixon (narrator)

At 7pm there will be a full length concert with paid admission. Anyone who attends the kiddie show and brings proof of attendance from the Community Concert for Kids will receive $10 off the concert ticket price for the evening show (2 tickets per person will be honored at this discount).

We request that you reserve your spots through eventbrite to hold your place. Please consider making a donation at checkout on Eventbrite or at the door when attending the concert. Your donations help keep these concerts free for the community. If you decide you cannot attend kindly cancel your reservation so the event does not sell out.
