About this Event

Just in time for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, Turkish Coffee Lady is proud to announce the upcoming release of "A Cup of Courage," a stirring documentary capturing the journey of a trailblazing entrepreneur—a mother, a breast cancer survivor, and a passionate advocate for cultural connection—who has brought the rich tradition of Turkish coffee to the global stage. Produced by Youtube @seyirAmerika, the documentary will premiere on November 19, 2024 at Athenaeum, spotlighting the resilience, innovation, and cultural pride that drives her mission.

"A Cup of Courage" chronicles the story of the Turkish Coffee Lady, whose dedication to sharing Turkish hospitality and heritage through every cup of coffee has overcome significant obstacles. She faced additional challenges in her pursuit of entrepreneurship, yet has emerged as a symbol of strength and resilience. Her business was selected as the success story of Virginia in 2022 by the SBDC and she was awarded as one of the most inspiring women by the VIP Alexandria magazine in 2023. Her story is a commitment to cultural legacy, and the power of female-driven businesses to make an impact on a global scale.

The documentary reflects the broader mission to connect, inspire, and uplift communities. The premiere will be followed by a Turkish cuisine & Turkish coffee reception. Audiences are invited to witness this story of resilience and to experience the cultural significance of Turkish coffee, which has become a universal symbol of hospitality, unity, and courage.
