About this Event
Due to shame and stigma in faith-based communities many congregants and even leaders suffer silently and alone. Church is supposed to be a place of community, where we should be able to feel comfortable enough to be transparent about our most vulnerable moments and be able to get support without judgement or rebuke. We must begin to cultivate safe spaces where people are able to release, feel heard and supported. Lives are being lost at record speed. Deaths are occurring that are totally preventable. We must come together and get proactive about being pillars in our communities and take a stand against the stigma. There are so many people who feel the burden of mental illness but not enough people talking about it. The goal is to normalize these conversations and help us truly understand that we’re not alone.
Join us for this impactful experience as we come together from different churches, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Come comfortable and open and be prepared for transformative speakers, transparency, open discussion, and lunch!
