This Christmas, A Christmas Carol comes to Coventry Charterhouse in a unique and memorable setting.Dickens’ timeless story explores themes of redemption, compassion, social responsibility, and the importance of family and community. There’s no better time to revisit this classic tale - and this special production offers a fresh way to experience it.
Performed inside the Charterhouse, this adaptation invites audiences to enjoy live theatre in one of the city’s most atmospheric buildings. It is a rare chance to see a well-loved story brought to life in a historic space.
The show has been adapted and is performed by Paul Nolan, an actor, writer and director with more than four decades of experience in theatre.
There is also a strong local connection to the story. In 1857, Sir Joseph Paxton, a landscape gardener, architect, and MP for Coventry, invited his friend Charles Dickens to give a reading of A Christmas Carol at the Coventry Corn Exchange. The event sold out almost immediately.
Capacity is limited so advance booking is strongly recommended.
