About this Event

A Celebration of Jazz, Spirituals & More! - Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 4pm

If you attended any previous Musica Reginae February kid's concerts, you know you’re in for a real treat when Alphonso, Denisha and Jon return to make music together, improvising and performing works by African-American composers.

This concert is part of our series Community Concerts for Kids which is a concert series created with our youngest audience members in mind. All concerts are interactive, 60 minutes in length, and are FREE to all who attend. All ages are welcome!

At the concert you will meet -

Teaching Artist Hosts: Barbara Podgurski and Beata Moon

Guest Artists: Denisha Ballew (vocals), Alphonso Horne (trumpet) and Jon Thomas (piano)

At 7pm there will be a full length concert with paid admission. Anyone who attends the kiddie show and brings proof of attendance from the Community Concert for Kids will receive $10 off the concert ticket price for the evening show (2 tickets per person will be honored at this discount).

We request that you reserve your spots through eventbrite to hold your place. Please consider making a donation at checkout on Eventbrite or at the door when attending the concert. Your donations help keep these concerts free for the community. If you decide you cannot attend kindly cancel your reservation so the event does not sell out.
