April 22 is Earth day and this practice is all about celebrating the beautiful gifts we receive from the earth. In this class we will create grounding to Gia through breath and connection and come to practice with deep gratitude. We will create an earth altar full of devotional energy to spread throughout the space. We will drink herbal tea as a way of receiving the medicine of the earth and whisper our good intentions back into the earth's energy. In this practice you will receive seeds to plant as a gift back to the mother.
In this style of breathwork Hannah will guide you through various different techniques, patterns and breath holds to create a deeply transcendental state. Regular practice brings physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual benefits because your breath directly impacts the way your nervous and other systems operate. Learning to control how you breathe and creating expansiveness within the lungs creates a holistic mind-body-soul approach to mental health, a balanced nervous system, physical well-being, and deep soul connection. This style of breathing can be very beneficial toward reducing stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression, grief, chronic pain and anger, it also helps to boost energy, concentration, mental clarity, sports performance, and a greater connection to the earth.
We will also enjoy a warming cup of ceremonial Egyptian Blue lotus tea. For over 3000 years the Blue Lotus was used by the priesthood of ancient Egypt for its medicinal properties and as a spiritual sacrament. Blue Lotus generally produces mild consciousness-expanding effects that are said to have a “divine” essence, which brings upon the feelings of tranquility and subtle euphoria.
For this class we ask that you do not consume caffeine or nicotine for at least 2 hours, eat for at least 1 hour or drink for at least 30 minutes before practice. It is also best to empty bowels and bladder before practice as it is preferable not to have to get up during class.
After class we will provide delicious flowering tea to both rehydrate and ground you as you move back towards your evening.
