This is an often-proposed full powerlifting team competition, first time in A/BPU history!
And, as one would expect, we have added a twist into it!
Men’s and women’s teams battle individually in groups of three. What makes this unique is that lifters can be of any age and use any equipment, all will be ironed out with coefficient!
Each team will have a pre-comp writeup published by the federation and extra coverage, and the winners will go on a permanent article on the federation website. We want our hard-working coaches and atmosphere cultivating gyms that can produce teams to get some recognition and limelight.
We want the experienced lifters mixing in with the novices and we want everyone pushing extra hard for the team. Bring your team, have fun, and maybe you will go home with the winner’s prize!
Details:
- Team is either 3 men or 3 women
- All members compete in full powerlifting
- A team member can compete in any equipment class, and a member of BPU or ABPU. The equipment and affiliation differences are equalled out with a coefficient, details of which are outlined below.
- Gym, coach, or group of friends can submit their teams. All one needs is a team name and the names of all the lifters partaking. One can submit men’s teams, women’s teams, or both.
- If a team member is a genuine first time competitor, his/her overall points will be counted 20% larger! So bring your first timers to compete!

- All lifters of a team must be members of ABPU or BPU.

Venue: FitXpo at the Bolton arena
Split: Men's teams compete Saturday 16th of May, Women's teams Sunday 17th of May
Weigh-ins: the day before you compete, 10-11.30AM or 4PM-5PM
This competition is in conjunction with Bolton Qualifiers, and limited to 6 teams.

McCullough age adjustment, AKA age coefficient is utilised
Equipment coefficient:
This will be the deduction from lifters total based on the equipment class they compete under.
RAW (naked knees): no deduction
Sleeves: 4% deduction from points
Wraps: 7% deduction from points
Single ply: 20% deduction from points
Multi ply: 25% deduction from points
Unlimited: 30% deduction from points
Affiliation:
For obvious reasons, a small adjustment is done based on whether lifter is BPU or ABPU. A points based competition already takes lifter’s bodyweight into account, but further adjustment is made to ensure a level playing field.
BPU lifters: 7% deduction from points

Entries will close to all our qualifiers as soon as we are full automatically.
You will need a current 2025/26 membership AT WEIGH IN – this must be of the year you are competing in. Memberships are INSTANT! You will receive an automatic email with your membership number in the header of the email and in the body text. There will also be a PDF attached to the email, this is a copy of the email. You MUST show this email at weigh in, If you do not produce this at weigh in – You will not be permitted to weigh in.
If you are new and are applying for membership write “waiting” in the membership number box on the entry form and use the link below to update your membership number as soon as you get it. Its very easy.
