About this Event
Brentwood's newest mural (over 400 feet long!) is the second stop on the tour. We'll start at Blakiston Park and discuss some of the new developments happening in Brentwood. The next stop is the fabulous mural!
We'll continue on to the University Research Park area (now named the University Innovation Quarter), where major changes are planned, with a rezoning application coming before Council this summer. Future developments will include some retail, commercial and residential buildings.
The tour will continue to the Brentwood LRT station overpass -- a good vantage point to view the LRT, Crowchild Trail and the Brentwood Mall area. We'll continue the tour beside some of the existing buildings at the TOD (Transit Oriented Development), with a few stops along the way. We'll end up back at Blakiston Park.
WALK NOTES: fast paced, covering lots of ground, will use speakers/voice amplification, stairs en route, 2 kilometers round trip.
MEETING SPOT: Blakiston Park - intersection of Brentwood Road and Blakiston Drive NW.
WALK LEADERS: Melanie Swailes & Peter Johnson. Long-time Brentwood residents and leaders of the Brentwood CA Development and Transportation Committee. They love Brentwood and are passionate about development matters. They look forward to sharing their insights into some of the changes happening in Brentwood.
