A BAND CALLED HONALEE is a modern-day folk trio inspired by the music and legacy of Peter, Paul & Mary. Musically accomplished, interactive, and energetic, their shows allow audiences to experience this timeless music live onstage once again. The group believes the melodies and messages of the 1960s folk and folk/rock era are just as relevant today as they were when they were first sung, perhaps even more so. Their mission is to share this uniquely American music with new audiences while rekindling the passion of lifelong fans. Satisfying diehard Peter, Paul & Mary lovers as well as newcomers to this wonderful era of music, the band’s shows feature all of PPM’s beloved hits, including “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” “Blowing in the Wind,” and of course “Puff The Magic Dragon.” With virtuosic musicianship, stirring vocal harmonies and polished showmanship, A BAND CALLED HONALEE also offers favorites from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, The Mamas & The Papas, Joan Baez, The Weavers, Judy Collins, and many others. After nearly a decade of bringing joy to audiences nationwide, the band still maintains an active touring schedule. Its compact presentation (four performing artists: a female vocalist, two male guitarist-vocalists, and an upright bassist) and modest tech requirements ensure that it can deliver in a wide variety of venues, from intimate cabarets to large concert halls. Outreach programs and masterclasses are available in conjunction with any program or performance.
