About this Event

Children need to understand different ways of partitioning numbers, and be aware that division calculations can often be solved with a simple mental jotting rather than always being approached with a ‘bus stop’ method. This webinar will focus on how to teach mental ‘chunking’ for 2 and 3-digit calculations, and explore how this ‘Find The Hunk’ strategy can be developed into long division and division of decimals. It will also include a quick overview of some of the other division strategies explored within MAP which simplify mental division.
