The 8th edition of the Mineral Point Ice Lantern Festival is Saturday, February 8. Enjoy family-friendly activities in the downtown historic district from 11am - 7pm. Grab hot chocolate, warm-up at a fire pit and listen to tunes from DJ FMAV in the library park. Ice Lanterns are lit up at 5pm! Visit participating retail locations with extended hours till 7:00pm, and bars and restaurants with festival specials.Unless otherwise noted all events take place at the Library Park, 137 High Street.
11:00am - 7:00pm. The AMP Member Art Show: this is the last exhibit day. See artworks from 30 professional member artists as well as a special exhibit of Mineral Point student art. Masonic Lodge, 304 High Street.
1:15pm - 1:45pm Storytelling with Jane Stenson. The Republic of Letters, 151 High Street
2:00pm - 3:30pm Free Family-Friendly movie. Mineral Point Public Library, main floor (next to Library Park).
2:00pm - 3:30pm BINGO! Mineral Point Public Library, lower level.
3:30pm Kids Costume Contest. $5 entry fee. Winning costume receives a $50 prize.
3:45pm Cake Walk Game #1—Take a turn strolling around a ring of numbers to music. Whoever is standing on the number called, wins the cake! $1 entry fee per turn.
4:00pm Adult Costume Contest. $5 entry fee. Winning costume receives a $50 prize.

5:00pm Lighting of the Lanterns—Lanterns throughout the downtown historic district will be lit by our team of pyromaniacs!
5:30pm Lantern Toss Take a turn at hurling an over-baked Ice Lantern! (Contestants must be able to lift 20 pounds). Winning toss will be the farthest within the closed-course. $5.00 entry fee. Winner receives a $50 prize! 310 High Street, next to Masonic Lodge
6:30pm Lantern Award Winners Announced—Winners of the individual and non-profit display contests will be announced by our esteemed judge.
7:00PM The outdoor music, games and concessions come to an end, but the Lantern Magic continues into the night! Stroll throughout the historic district and see lanterns from students, individuals, businesses. Visit galleries and shops with extended hours. Enjoy food and beverages from local eateries.
