All About Bats, Old Homes, and Mines:Sunday, February 16, 2:30pm at Orchard Lawn (234 Madison Street)
Join Bat Specialist from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Jennifer Redell on a journey of historic homes and mines and why they are often home to bats and hibernation zones. Miners inadvertently created perfect bat hibernation sites as they dug into the hillsides of southwest Wisconsin. Jennifer frequently studies bat populations in historic extant lead mines to study bats. She will provide us with a visual tour of the lead mines and the bats that call them home. We will also learn more about what to do if you have a bat in your home.
