About this Event
8th Annual Detroit Diaspora Day Fest
Detroit Diaspora Day Fest
Detroit Diaspora Day Fest is where the family reunion, the art opening, the house party, the marketplace, the cipher, and the block party all find each other.
It is Detroit in motion. Detroit as sound. Detroit as memory. Detroit as migration. Detroit as style. Detroit as cousins from other cities pulling up with stories, records, artwork, jewelry, food, fashion, and that particular kind of knowing that only happens when culture has been lived, not just marketed.
This is a day for people who understand that music is more than entertainment. It is memory work. It is movement. It is testimony. It is how we remember who we are, where we came from, and who came with us.
This year’s musical experience brings together selectors, artists, and cultural storytellers, including:
- Salah Ananse | Atlanta, House in the Park
- Reggie Dokes | Atlanta, Psychostatia Recordings | NDATL Muzik

- DJ Righteous | Unscripted Melodies
