The Kennewick Irrigation District’s 7th Annual Safety Santa Event blends holiday magic with hands-on safety fun for the whole community. Expect free photos with Santa, a kids’ gift giveaway (while supplies last), meet-and-greets with local heroes, and interactive safety booths from partners like Benton PUD, Benton County Fire District 1, Kennewick PD/FD, WSU Master Gardeners, Benton Conservation District, 811 and the Go-Team Therapy Dogs. New this year: a cozy heated party tent, extra twinkle lights with an extended photo backdrop and red carpet, plus surprise cameos from the Grinch and fan-favorite Otto the Otter.The event regularly welcomes 300–500 attendees, supports a Toys for Tots toy drive (helping fill a truck last year!), and keeps its mission front and center: a festive, family-friendly space to share important safety information—along with memorable holiday photos
