About this Event
Welcome to Charleston Climate Coalition's 6th annual Tour de Earth Day, a slow-roll bike ecotour around the Charleston peninsula. Expect to hear from speakers along the way about urban farming, native plants, sustainable agriculture, environmental justice issues in Charleston's past and present, and more! We'll gather for the Tour in the field between Mary Murray Blvd. and Rutledge Ave., across the street from Sightsee Coffee. We will begin the ride promptly at 2pm, so please arrive early. We encourage you to arrive as early as 1pm if you would like to decorate your bike. We will have materials for this on hand.
Featuring: The M.A.R.S.H. Project, Root Down Building Collective, The Green Heart Project, the Eastside Community Development Corporation, & Friends of Gadsden Creek, and Yoga is Us!
Please register to reserve a spot. This is a BYOB event (Bring your Own Bicycle) for those who have one, but if you are in need of a loaner let us know ahead of time and we can provide one. A special thanks to Island Riders Bike Rental for providing extra bicycles! You are also more than welcome to ride e-bikes, scooters, and skateboards. This is a family-friendly event, so all are welcome and kids ride for free!
We want to give folks an opportunity to learn more about the green work happening in their City, celebrate the Earth together, enjoy our rich environmental community, and turn a critical eye to where environmental issues remain. We hope you'll join us!
