Join our community as we celebrate the life of Sojourner Truth through way of walking and talking. Participants will meet at Dietz stadium to be driven to Esopus Town Hall, to hear some quick speeches from local officials and ST walk creator, Executive Director of MyKingstonKids, Frank Waters.
We will make several stops along the way to hear spoken word about Sojourner’s life. Stops will include Jug Tavern, the new statue in City Hall and a stop for some hot chocolate as well! The last stop will be inside the Old Dutch Church, where there will be refreshments and we will end the day hearing Rev. Deborah Zuill who has portrayed Sojourner Truth for more than 20 years reenacting the now infamous speech, “Ain’t I a woman?”
