About this Event
The Student Chapter of the Black Architects and Interior Designers Association (BAIDA Students) is excited to present our annual Careers in Design event an evening dedicated to celebrating Black excellence in the design industry. This year, we’re thrilled to be partnering with Teknion, who will be generously hosting Careers in Design in their showroom space. Their support helps us create a dynamic and inspiring environment for meaningful conversations, presentations, and networking.
This signature event brings together Black professionals across design disciplines to share their work, career journeys, insights, and advice with current students and emerging designers from diverse backgrounds. It’s a powerful opportunity to learn, connect, and build community in an inspiring and supportive space.
Event Format
The evening will feature three simultaneous panel sessions hosted in separate presentation spaces at the Teknion showroom:
- Architecture
- Interior Design
- Industrial Design
When registering, attendees will select one discipline room to attend. Each panel will include accomplished professionals who will present their work, discuss their career paths, and offer insight into navigating the design industry.
Networking Reception
Following the panel presentations, all attendees and professionals will come together for an open networking session. Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with peers, mentors, and industry leaders.
Whether you’re a student exploring your path or a young designer looking to grow your network, this is a space to gain insight, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations.
