Drawing from established modern dance techniques such as Graham, Limรณn, and release-based contemporary practices, students will begin to understand how the body moves with intention, expression, and control.
๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐:
โข Breath-driven movement inspired by Limรณn technique, learning how breath initiates and supports motion
โข Contraction and release from Graham technique, building strength, coordination, and expressive range
โข Fall and recovery, developing trust in the body and learning how to move safely in and out of the floor
โข Use of weight and momentum, a key element in contemporary and release-based work
โข Alignment, balance, and spatial awareness
โข Floor work and traveling phrases, helping dancers move fluidly through space
โข Musicality and rhythm through structured and creative exercises
Alongside technique, students will engage in guided improvisation and simple choreography, encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
At Sukanya Burman Dance (SBD), our approach is unique. We integrate strong technical foundations with creative exploration and emotional awareness, allowing young dancers to not only learn how to move, but also how to connect movement with feeling and imagination. Our classes create a space that is inclusive, encouraging, and rooted in curiosity, where every child can grow both technically and artistically.
By the end of the program, students will develop coordination, strength, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how to express themselves through movement.
