Reawaken your foundations in our six-week series which explores yoga practice from the ground up. We’ll bring curiosity and attention to the feet, the complex and intelligent structures that support our balance, posture and movement.
Through simple awareness practices, foot exercises, standing postures and balance work, we’ll begin to reawaken the foundations of the body. As the feet become more responsive, the legs and spine often organise themselves more naturally, bringing greater steadiness and ease to the whole practice.
The human foot contains 26 bones and an intricate network of muscles, ligaments and sensory receptors. When we start paying attention to this remarkable part of the body, small shifts can have surprisingly wide effects, improving balance, stability and the way we move through both yoga and daily life.
In yoga philosophy we often speak of being rooted. When the foundations are steady, everything above them can grow with greater freedom.
Over these six weeks we’ll explore that idea together:
feet first, deep roots, strong blooms.
