6-Week Drawing Foundations & Explorations Build your drawing skills and creative confidence over six weeks in this immersive drawing class at The Crow’s Nest. Together, we’ll explore a range of materials and techniques designed to help you see, understand, and draw with more intention and ease.
Over the course of the session, we’ll work with:
-Drawing pencils for line, shading, and form
-Black and white charcoal for bold contrast and dramatic light
-Pen and ink for expressive linework and texture
-Powdered graphite for soft, atmospheric effects
You’ll learn how to:
-Break subjects down into simple shapes
-Understand light, shadow, and value
-Use different mark-making techniques for texture and depth
-Combine materials for rich, layered drawings
Returning students are absolutely welcome—this class is structured so we never repeat the same project twice. Each session introduces new subjects and fresh techniques, so there’s always something new to explore and challenge you. All levels are welcome, from curious beginners to those looking to deepen their practice. All basic materials are provided.
Supplies required: 8.5x11 Robert Bateman Sketch book set of pencils ranging in 8b to 4h sharpener all other supplies included
