Trainer: Abbie is a trained childbirth educator and a trained DONA birth doula. She received her Bachelors in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Masters degree in Pastoral Counseling from Asbury Seminary. Abbie lives in J-Town with her husband and five kids.

Join Joyful Birth’s Abbie Gibitz and connect with other future parents as she teaches this in-depth and interactive childbirth class! In this face-to-face setting, you will learn valuable skills that you just can’t get from a book or the Internet.
Group and private classes are held in Louisville throughout the year.
Shorter 2-3 hour childbirth classes can give you the basics, but there is power that comes from the knowledge you and your partner gain from a 6-week, in-depth childbirth education course! You will gain confidence as we dive deep and revisit key concepts week after week.

What This Childbirth Class Will Cover
- Healthy & Strong Pregnancy Tips: Make your pregnancy as smooth as possible by feeding yourself and your baby a healthy diet!
- Driving Out Fear with Knowledge: The best way to get the birth you don't want is to birth uninformed. I make sure that doesn't happen.
- Breastfeeding Basics: Breastfeeding usually doesn't happen seamlessly. It takes some work. Get started on the right foot!
- Coping Skills for Every Situation: Though we hope and pray you never have complications, we need to be prepared for every scenario.
- Phases & Stages of Labor: Our support team is here to ensure things runs smoothly, so you can get on with other things.
- Building a Birth Plan: Do you know your vision for your birth? Does your care provider? Put it on paper and make a plan.
- Prepare for Life after Baby: A lot of parents will offer advice to new parents. What advice should you listen to? How do you prepare?
- Empowering Your Partner: Your partner is a vital asset to you in the birth room. Discover the best ways to work together as a team!
Childbirth Classes in Louisvillewill be held in J-Town at Sojourn Church J-Town. We will meetTuesdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Private classes are held in your own home and are scheduled separately from group classes.
