Herbal Phoenix STL in partnership with Ferguson Farmers Market will be hosting a Native American Celebration in Ferguson ti provide a venue for indigenous voices to share their stories. The gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to learn about the varying Native American cultures represented, their victories, and their struggles. There will be a variety of native foods and drinks to partake in while watching the storytellers, singers, drummers, flutist, and dancers.
Jim Mayhew (Metis) will kick off the entertainment with the Native American flute. We will also present a drummer from Native Women’s Circle before introducing our returning educator, Ronnie Preston. Mr. Preston (San Carlos Apache) has celebrated all all five years with us and is returning to provide more captivating storytelling, interactive dancing, and drumming.
Many artisans will be present with flags of their native nations flying at their booths. We will have a Native Game Booth where people can learn how to play Native American games that have been in their cultures for generations and have an opportunity to win prizes!
We will have indigenous spices, herbs, sweet treats, food, artwork, beadwork, dream catchers, knifes, protection bells, jewelry, sun catchers, geodes, carved crystals, and medicinal teas.
In addition, there will be a booth to educate event attendees in regard to current and past Indigenous causes.
Native Americans are grossly underrepresented and often misrepresented. Our local native community would love to share their rich culture with the community at large.
We will need volunteers! Message us if you are able to help. We have a variety of needs so all ages are welcome to volunteer.
If you wish to be an Indigenous vendor dm herbal Phoenix only. All others are scammers.
