About this Event

Join us Saturday, September 20th, from 3 to 8 pm for PG&J's Dog Bar's 5th Annual BARKtoberfest and Animal Rescue Event.

It's a day filled with craft beer, bratwurst, hot dogs, fun activities, and a spirit of giving. We encourage humans and furry friends to don their best German attire!

ACTIVITIES: Sign-ups for Stein Hoisting and Dog Races begin 30 minutes before.

🍺 STEIN HOISTING CONTEST: Sponsored by Warsteiner. Men's and Women's Divisions. Men's Contest starts at 4 pm. Ladies' Contest to follow. Prizes to the winners!

🐶 WIENER & SMALL DOG RACES: Sponsored by Sierra Nevada. Races begin at 5 pm. Prizes!

🎃 PUMPKIN BOWLING: Sponsored by Sam Adams. All Day! Prizes!

🎟️ RAFFLE BASKETS: Tickets sold all day. Drawing later in the day.

🐕 PG&J's Dog Requirements: Please provide vet records showing your pup is four months or older, spayed or neutered, and has up-to-date vaccinations for Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper. Submit vet records to [email protected]

Men's Stein Hoisting Contest

Info: Prizes to the last man holding! Stein hoisting, also known as Masskrugstemmen, is a Bavarian strength contest where participants hold a one-liter beer stein (Masskrug) with a straight arm, parallel to the ground, for as long as possible. The rules require the arm to be extended without bending at the elbow, and the stein must be held by the handle. Spilling or dripping any liquid from the stein results in immediate disqualification.

Arm Position:
The holding arm must be fully extended with the elbow locked, parallel to the ground.
Stein Grip:
The stein must be gripped by the handle, with the thumb not resting on top.
Body Position:
The off-hand must remain at the competitor's side and cannot touch or support the stein or the holding arm. Competitors cannot lean excessively or use their torso to support the arm.
Spillage:
Any spilling or dripping of liquid from the stein results in immediate disqualification.

Small dogs qualifications: Maximum height and weight TBD. Small dog examples: Dachshunds, Corgis, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Yorkies and small mixes.
