In these funky, frenetic times, we need our feet on the ground, our instincts intact, and our intuition in full force. Being true to the signs and signals that come from within is our survival art — not to mention a way to move with integrity in a world in flux.
Hidden in chaos, like the eye of the hurricane, is the moving center — your power center — a place deep in your belly that holds your equilibrium and harmony. The way to this center is a deep medicine journey — a journey of blood, bones, and sweat — nothing less than an intimate affair with yourself.
When we are this connected to our true self, we respond instinctively and intuitively, rather than from fear or habit. We know when to stay and when to go, when to speak and when to be silent, when to be patient and when to push, when to rush full tilt and when to be still.
And so we move. Fueled by the ecstatic language of the 5Rhythms®, this is movement as spiritual practice — a dancing, kinetic prayer of connection to the unpredictable mystery of it all.
Jonathan Horan is Gabrielle Roth’s son and was her closest collaborator until her passing in 2021. He is now the Executive Director of 5Rhythms Global and The Moving Center, the international institute his mother founded. Jonathan has been immersed in the 5Rhythms practice throughout his entire life. He now leads workshops worldwide and is one of the core faculty members for 5Rhythms Teacher Trainings. In Gabrielle’s final book Connections, she named Jonathan “The Keeper of the Flame,” and he continues to be a key catalyst in its evolution.

In deze gekke, hectische tijden hebben we onze voeten op de grond nodig, onze instincten scherp en onze intuïtie krachtig. Trouw blijven aan de tekenen en signalen die tot ons komen, is een kunst van overleven – en bovendien een manier om met integriteit te bewegen in een wereld vol beweging.
Verborgen in de chaos, als het oog van een orkaan, ligt het bewegende centrum: je krachtcentrum. Een plek diep in je buik waar evenwicht en harmonie huizen. De weg naar dit centrum is een reis van diepe genezing – een reis van bloed, botten en zweet. Niets minder dan een intieme ontmoeting met jezelf.
Wanneer we zo verbonden zijn met ons ware zelf, reageren we instinctief en intuïtief, in plaats van uit angst of gewoonte. We weten wanneer we moeten blijven en wanneer we moeten gaan, wanneer we moeten spreken en wanneer we moeten zwijgen, wanneer we geduld moeten hebben en wanneer we moeten doorzetten, wanneer we voluit moeten bewegen en wanneer we stil mogen zijn.
En zo bewegen we. Gevoed door de extatische taal van de 5Ritmes® is dit beweging als spirituele oefening – een dansend, kinetisch gebed, een verbinding met het onvoorspelbare mysterie van het leven zelf.
Jonathan Horan, de zoon van Gabrielle Roth, was tot haar overlijden in 2012 haar naaste medewerker. Hij is nu uitvoerend directeur van 5Rhythms Global en The Moving Center, het internationale instituut dat zijn moeder oprichtte. Jonathan is zijn hele leven al ondergedompeld in de 5Ritmes-praktijk. Tegenwoordig geeft hij wereldwijd workshops en is hij een van de belangrijkste docenten binnen de 5Ritmes Teacher Trainings. In Gabrielle’s laatste boek Connections noemde ze Jonathan “The Keeper of the Flame” – en hij blijft een belangrijke katalysator in de voortdurende evolutie van haar werk.
