5K Walk for Early Childhood Development in Ethiopia

Lace up your sneakers for this 5K walk around the scenic Tidal Basin in Washington, DC. You can participate from any location around the world. If you are not in the DMV, register as a virtual walker, grab a friend or two and join us the day of the walk virtually!

Your participation will help us reach our goal of raising $10,000. This will support our Early Childhood Development Program in Ethiopia by providing education, responsive caregiving, nutrition, health, and a secure and safe environment for children aged 0-6 years.

5K Schedule:

7am - 7:30am : T-shirt pick up

7:30am - 8:00am: Welcome & Warm-up

8:00 am - 10:00am: Walk

Your registration includes a t-shirt and snacks.

**Virtual Walkers/Donations** Donations at and above registration fee of $25 will receive a HOPE worldwide Ethiopia pen as a small token of appreciation.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization and therefore your donations are tax-deductible.

Parking is available at the Tidal Basin Parking Area at 1501 Maine Ave. SW, Washington DC 20024. (This is off of Independence Avenue, SW and is also the parking lot to board the Paddle Boats.) Please note this is a metered parking lot - expect a maximum fee of approx. $7-8 for the entirety of this event.

Please note that there is ongoing construction around the Tidal Basin area. Google maps and all other driving apps will reroute you as necessary to this location. A map of the 5K route is attached for your information. Sites you will enjoy during the walk include Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, MLK Memorial, the Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, the White House, and the African American Museum.
