Welcome to the 5K FUN RUN for BOOKS!

(rescheduled from October due to recent hurricane Helene)

Many children are unable to attend school because they can not afford uniforms, required books or the basic school supplies. Many childen are pulled out of school to help their families make a living or care for younger siblings. This should never happen! All children deserve a chance! Paying for the expenses of an education can relieve that burden on the family.

This virtual 5K Fun Run is designed to do just that.

All the proceeds will be used to provide scholarships, pay tuition, purchase school books and supplies. Help ShawOpCo Corporation and our volunteers make this happen for the children in Jamaica and Kenya. Let's exceed our target this year!
This Virtual 5K will take place on November 9th and 10th, 2024.

Just 3 easy steps! You alone or you and your team will:

1) plot out your own path,

2) ask friends/family for pledges which will be your donation and when completed ( or you can make your own donations)

3) take a picture of your shoes and post to our Shaw OpCo Face Book page thread with the amount raised. If you have a tracking app, feel free to post the run (for security please delete all addresses & location points).

And after all this work... The top fundraiser gets to walk away with a weekend escape for 2 at the famous perstigious in St Mary Jamaica . There are other prizes as well for top fundraisers.

Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to support a good cause, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. You can run, walk, or jog at your own pace and track your progress online.
