About this Event
Saturday, December 14 | 10 am–1 pm | UMFA Classroom
Free for anyone 55 and better!
We have more creative opportunities than we realize and working outside offers a multi-dimensional experience. Creating can be done solo or with a group. You can work traditionally “en plein air” using oil paint, but you can also use a range of materials that are much easier to manage. Getting in the habit of traveling with a small sketchbook or watercolor notebook is another easy way to incorporate creativity into your life.
In this workshop, we will explore ways to create art while traveling as well as setups and approaches to working “en plein air.” We will visit and be inspired by the exhibition “Blue Grass Green Skies American Impressionism and Realism from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art” currently on display at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. All art materials will be provided for this workshop.
Space is limited so RSVP today!
