About this Event
Feel awkward. Do the thing anyway.
Remember when you didn’t have to work to have a social life and meeting someone new didn’t require an algorithm?
We can’t turn back the clock. The brave new world is here whether we like it or not, but we don’t have to lose ourselves to it.
Curated and casual-but-structured gathering for local adults 55+ who are interested in connection — romantic or otherwise — and are ready and willing to step just a little beyond their comfort zones and show up as themselves.
Hosted by Third Act Social, this event will feature:
- Real people, fully present, age 55+
- Structured but relaxed interaction
- And, yes, perhaps a little awkwardness — because, well, we’re human
- Time to mingle naturally
- Warm ambience, music, simple refreshments
No apps.
No swiping.
No performance required.
Just human beings in a room, showing up as themselves and stepping out into what might be possible.
Capacity is intentionally limited to create a balanced, comfortable experience.
Step out of your comfort zone.
Feel awkward. Do the thing anyway.
About Third Act Social:
Third Act Social was founded by Jo Annette Self, a Kansas City native, who like many of us of a certain age, began to notice that connection and community require more intention and effort than they used to. Instead of waiting for a vibrant social life to magically appear, she decided to create one — designing engaging, thoughtfully curated events where people can meet face-to-face, share meaningful conversation, laugh, and build genuine connection in real life.
She felt awkward, but she did it anyway.
