Ourspace Foundation is proud to present the 3rd Annual 517 Hispanic Heritage Weekend, honoring the rich traditions and lasting contributions of the Hispanic community across Michigan and beyond.
Why We Celebrate:
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationally from September 15 to October 15, recognizing the cultures, histories, and achievements of Americans with ancestry from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This weekend brings those stories to life through culture, connection, and community celebration.
Weekend Lineup:
Thursday, September 18 – Pathways to Wholeness Seminar
Kick off the weekend with a powerful seminar focused on wellness, financial empowerment, and holistic growth. Hear from dynamic voices in the community, access local resources, and walk away inspired and equipped.
Friday, September 19 – Dance Class & Mixer at Lansing Shuffle
Meet us on the patio at Lansing Shuffle for our second annual Latin Dance Class & Mixer, featuring bachata and salsa lessons, a live DJ, and stunning views of the Grand River and city skyline. A beautiful night of movement and connection.
Saturday, September 20 – A Taste of Hispanic Heritage Festival
From 3:30 PM to 10 PM, Capitol Avenue (in front of the Capitol Building) turns into a cultural festival ground! Enjoy live music (Tejano, jazz, DJs), luchador wrestling, folklore dance, and over 70 food trucks and vendors celebrating Hispanic culture. Explore the Kidz Zone, grab a bite, and dance in the streets.
Sunday, September 21 – Latin Jazz Night
Close out the weekend with rhythm and soul at Latin Jazz Night on Lansing Shuffle’s patio. Featuring live performance, this elegant evening blends music, dancing, and downtown ambiance under the stars.
