Good morning, Class of ’76!This may be a bit redundant, but here is another update. There have been challenges getting lodging group rates for our reunion, so please find a list of local options at the bottom of this update.
Wednesday, May 20th, 2026
The Alumni Association of FHS, Inc., will be presenting the 2026 Alumni Awards to the Class of 2026, at its Annual Meeting. The event will be held at the “new” FHS, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the auditorium. The Class of 1976 will be recognized that night as the 50th Class, along with the 25th Class, 2001. This has been a tradition for the high school and the Alumni Association for many years. We realize many of you are not local, but for those who are, it is a fun event, and we hope to represent!

We had planned to attend the Friday night football game, but due to a scheduling change we have a TBA for Friday night. We are planning to have a tour of the “old” Fitchburg High School late Friday afternoon with more specifics to follow.
Saturday, September 12th, 2026
We are planning on offering a tour of “The Rock,” led by Peter Capodagli, Class of 1968, in the morning, followed by our reunion at the Monoosnock Country Club from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
We have 21 committed so far to the reunion. Cost of the event will be $76 per person. You may pay by check made out to: Alumni Association of FHS, Inc., with Class of 1976 Reunion in the Memo. Checks should be mailed to Class of 1976 Reunion, 199 Richardson Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420, attention Chris Woods, or through direct deposit to our Venmo account at: @theburg76. We will be offering a catered meal, music provided by KMJ Entertainment Services (DJ Rocco Mammone, Class of 1998), and a cash bar. Name tags will also be provided.

Brunch at the Knights of Columbus, 165 Electric Avenue, Fitchburg, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Joe Haggerty, Class of 1975, has offered to cook for us in the memory of his brother, Paul.
Lodging Information – Despite Maryellen’s efforts, she has had challenges with obtaining a group rate, and has had no luck negotiating a decent rate from any of the local hotels. She mentioned she can do better booking on her own. So as not to delay anyone's plans, she will be emailing those who reached out to her to let them know that her attempts have been a bust. She will share with them a few booking pointers and hope for the best. She is disappointed that local businesses do not want to support the return of former residents who would be coming to town and spending some money.
