About this Event
Aston University started teaching transport to students in 1973, since then generations of students have graduated, contributing no end to the UK skills in this area. From Rail and Road, Consultancy and Government there are few areas in the transport sphere that have not been improved by our Graduates.
Transport is an enabler to everything and everybody, whether it be the movement of people or goods for business or leisure and as such relevant to all walks of daily life. As we look to a more sustainable future and the need to decarbonise our world, Aston University graduates and their skills are more in need than ever.
Join us as we celebrate 50 Years of Transport at Aston University by bringing some of our past and present students together – along with key figures from the industry to discuss the theme: The Past, Present and Future of Transport.
Guest speakers and Aston University academics will be showcasing their research and taking part in panel discussions to revel in the history of transport, discuss the skills that are needed to pursue a career in the industry today, and explore the future transport needs in our region and globally, and how Aston University is working to address these.
The day will be made up of the following:
12:30pm - 1:30pm: Arrival drinks and lunch
1:30pm - 5:00pm: Guest talks and panel discussions
5:00 - 6:00pm: Drinks reception sponsored by CILT, networking and photo opportunity
