Join us for our monthly 5 Mile Hike at Phil Hardberger Park, and bring a friend! This is a moderate-level hike. We'll walk approximately 5 miles along the perimeter trails of the park. We will cross both the Skywalk and the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge and pass by several points of interest such as the Savanna Restoration area, the Wetland corner, our Nature Play Area, Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration Garden, Golden Age art installation, Salado Creek Overlook, the Borrow Pit, and Phil's Tree.
This 5-mile hike covers a variety of walking paths and will take up to two hours to walk, though it may finish sooner based on the group. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water to stay hydrated. We will stop at the Urban Ecology Center building halfway through for a water refill and restroom break, before finishing back where we started.
This program is intended for adults and teens who can travel 5+ miles of moderate-level walking on both paved and natural trails. To respect everyone's time, the group will leave promptly at 8am.
**Registration encouraged, but not required.
**Weather permitting. Route and length may vary due to trail conditions.
