Friends as you know we do this benefit every year. We have a committee that decides and votes on what this fund raiser goes to every year. Usually we do not disclose this until the day of. This year is a little different. I have been asked by neighbors to announce this in hopes of more participation. Now as I have said before every dollar that comes in that day goes to the recipient. Not the proceeds. We do not take any money to cover our costs and we are okay with that. I tell you all this to let you know we have a neighbor that has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma stage 4. It is a very aggressive form of cancer and it has metastaticized. It is non operable. Our neighbor is in the battle of their life. Out of respect of their and their families privacy I am and will only say that it is a close neighbor on Pickett Rd. Please do not reach out to any committee member asking who it is. We have all agreed to have them remain anonymous right now. This is a family we are are all very close to and love. So please share this event to the widest parts of Facebook. Bring some cash, eat some great food, drinks at the Brunktank (for those of age), win great prizes, and lets have some fun to support a great family this year. We will have venmo, cashapp, and paypal QR codes that day as well. SHARE SHARE SHARE.
4th annual pickett smoke off. Raffles, 50/50, pull tabs. Come on out and bring your favorite smoked item to enter in our smoke off contest. Tasting is free but judging is $1 per vote. All proceeds benefit the pickett rd community. Come win the traveling trophy and be named the new Pickett Pitt Master.
ALSO you asked for it, you got it. We are also adding a Baking category to the event this year. Still coming up with a name for it and there will be a seperate traveling trophy for that too. So bring you best baked good to be voted on the same way as the smoked category. Tasting is free but voting is $1 per vote. It can be any baked good you think is best bread, dessert, etc.
