4th Annual COMBO Playdate

Kick off summer with a FREE BLOCK PARTY! A fun-filled afternoon of hands-on discovery, exciting activities, and free offerings for the whole family! This year’s theme is DISCOVERY, bringing children and caregivers together to explore the world around them - through science, health and creativity.

All families are welcome, and resources will be available in both English and Spanish!

Step aboard a BioBus to explore microorganisms under high-powered microscopes, climb into a real FDNY firetruck, or learn hands-only CPR. Get a free dental check-up, test air and water quality, pot your own plant, and even observe the sky with an astronomy activity! Kids can enjoy sensory play, face painting, and fun activities, while caregivers unwind with a grounding exercises workshop. Plus, connect with local resources and join a DIY workshop to make non-toxic hand sanitizer for a healthier home.

Who Hosts the COMBO Playdate?

The Playdate is hosted by the COMBO Initiative at Columbia University, one of the world's leading studies on the pandemic's effects on children and families.

But this is not a research event — we created the Playdate to give back to the wonderful families who made COMBO possible. And since family health is rooted in community health, the Playdate naturally grew into a celebration of all young families in our community.
