The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon is back and is set to take place on Sunday June 1st in San Francisco.
The race welcomes triathletes from all over the world to take over the S and waters of San Francisco. The triathlon features a grueling 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz Island to the shoreline of Marina Green an 18-mile technical bike ride through the Presidio and an 8-mile multi-terrain run out to Baker Beach and back where athletes will also encounter the infamous 200-plus-step Sand Ladder.
After completion these triathletes belong to an exclusive and small community of people who can officially claim they have “Escaped from Alcatraz.”
