Wanga is the President & CEO of Essence Ventures, a portfolio of brands that drive a global Black economic ecosystem, including ESSENCE, Afropunk, BeautyCon, and Essence Studios. Previously, she served as Chief Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer at Target, where she spent 15 years in transformational leadership roles across supply chain, business intelligence, and strategy.
Co-founder of WangaWoman LLC, Caroline champions authenticity and cultural innovation, inspiring individuals and organizations alike. She is a highly sought-after keynote speaker, equity strategist, and thought leader known for her “real-talk” delivery and passion for authenticity as a differentiator.
Her accolades include the Anthem Award for Business Leader of the Year, two honorary doctorates, and recognition as one of the Most Powerful Women in Corporate America. A proud Kenyan citizen, HBCU graduate, and mother, Caroline remains dedicated to empowering communities and advancing equity globally.
