41Drawings Workshop @ Imperial War Museum, London
31/03/24 2pm till 4pm.
Each person is given a small A6 sketchbook and a stick of graphite. The objective of the workshop is to walk through the free exhibitions at Imperial War Museum and make 41 fast paced drawings in 2 hours.
We will visit the Spies, Lies and Deception exhibit and the other free permanent collections:
Spies, Lies and Deception is a free, must-see exhibition at IWM London about deception and espionage from the First World War to the present day.

Explore how audacious plots of deception have changed the course of conflict and the lives of those involved. The exhibition showcases over 150 objects, newly digitised film and photography, as well as specially commissioned interviews.
The exhibition will cover the role of deception, the means by which it was uncovered and the costs of being both deceiver and the deceived.

(The session will begin with a short reading of 'THE LAST DAYS OF JULIAN ASSANGE IN BRITAIN' which was recently published by DECLASSIFIED UK' Julian's public-service-journalism work has landed him on trial, with US lawyers attempting to prosecute Julian under the 1917 Espionage Act, which has never before been used for publishing classified information.)

There will be lots of objects/artworks and starting points for conversation and inspiration to make some drawings. All abilities welcome and this workshop is free to access.
This specific session is hosted by Nima @nima.shafiani who works as an artist in today's London.
We will meet as a group at the main entrance of the Imperial War Museum at 1.45pm and the session starts at 2pm.
