Join Us for a 40 Year Celebration in the Garden!
We're throwing a fun, laid-back in-person party at Back Door Pottery to celebrate four amazing decades. Come hang out in the garden, enjoy great vibes, and soak up the good times. It's the perfect chance to reconnect, celebrate creativity, and just have a blast outdoors. Don't miss out on this special milestone bash – we can't wait to see you there!
This event IS outdoors so if it rains on the 18th the rain date is April 22, 2026 EARTH DAY Same times different day.
Look on Facebook for rain plans. What to Expect Saturday the 18th:
* The Tamale Kitchen will be parked out front on St John Avenue starting at 6 PM serving their signature tamales and sides.
* Enter The garden and enjoy live music from local entertainers:
*** Rick Maresky Guitar and friends 6pm
*** Phil Wang, Guitar/Harmonica sunset 8pm
*** Christina Hentzen, Fire Dancer sunset 8pm
* Open Campfire Drummers are invited to participate
* Brats, Kielbasa, hot dogs and s'mores, drinks, beer & snacks
* Building Birthday Cake
* Tours of the Studio. 7pm-8pm
* Bring your guitar or instruments to play after the entertainers check out. There is plenty of firewood for the fire. The Celebration will be in St John Gardens next door. on street parking.
A few notes:
I moved into this space in April of 1986 by renting the West half of the building. The East half was a Laundromat. Soon after the laundromat closed (a little over a year) I was able to purchase and became a local artist/potter in Northeast. 2026 I am still here offering Pottery Classes, Woodfired Raku Workshops. Egyptian Paste Workshops, Paper Making Workshops, Internships and limited studio space rental.
