We are offering this training in conjuction with the Kentucky Interpreter and Translator Association (KITA) base in Lexington, KY.
If you want a quality program that will prepare you for the real world of interpreting, you have found it!. This professional training is for you.
This training is interactive and high energy with individual work as well as group activities, resourceful, and skills-based. The sessions will teach you what you need to know to work as a professional interpreter.
During the training, you will learn the interpreters' roles, ethics, modes of interpreting, and more! This traning is focused on Medical Interpreting (TMI), and provides the prerequisite for national medical interpreting certification.
This is a language-neutral course, taught in English, and is open to speakers of all languages.
Prior experience in interpreting fields is not required.
Price includes language assessments, as needed, all materials/books, and final certificate. Class participants must prove proficiency in English and one additional language. Minimum age is 18 and minimum education high school diploma/GED.
This training is 36 hours via Zoom and 4 hours in person
Schedule:
- Week 1: Monday, May 5th - Friday, May 9th from 6pm -10pm, and Saturday, May 10th from 9:00am - 1:00pm (live virtual ZOOM)
- Week 2: Tuesday, May 13th - Thursday, 15th from 6pm -10pm (live virtual ZOOM)
Saturday, May 17th 9am to 1pm (in-person) 2134 Nicholasville Rd Stes 16/17 Lexington, KY (Final Exam)
In order to receive the certificate for the training, you must attend all sessions, pass the final exam at a grade of 75% or better.
