This is an evening gathering for women and femmes circa 40+ who are curious about womenโs history, feminine culture, and what meaningful community might look like in midlife and beyond.
Weโll come together to watch the documentary ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ด๐ป๐ ๐ข๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ, which explores the life and work of archaeologist and cultural historian ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ท๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฏ๐๐๐ฎ๐.
Through decades of research, Gimbutas proposed that much of prehistoric Europe was once home to peaceful, creative, goddess-centred cultures โ societies organised around cooperation, reverence for life, and relationship with the earth, long before the rise of war-based patriarchal systems.
The film explores ancient symbols of the feminine, early village life, and the deep cultural shift that occurred when these societies were overtaken โ and invites reflection on what has been lost, forgotten, and what might be re-imagined today.
๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐น๐ผ๐:
๐ฏ 6:00pm โ Arrival & BYO potluck
๐ฌ 7:00โ8:00pm โ Documentary screening
๐ฌ 8:00pm onward โ Open discussion
After the film, the conversation will begin with reflections on its themes and then open into a broader discussion about Women & Femmes, belonging, ageing, home, and community.
For those who feel drawn, this will also include a conversation about a developing vision for a 40+ women & femmes community co-living project โ exploring how we might live more connected, supported, and intentionally together in midlife and beyond, outside of traditional family structures or the isolation of solo living.
๐ช๐ต๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ:
This gathering is especially for women and femmes approaching midlife who are:
- curious about womenโs history and feminine culture
- feeling the limits of solo living or conventional life structures
- interested in community, shared living, or new ways of creating a sense of "home" and "family" in the world
- drawn to thoughtful conversation and depth
If you donโt strictly fit this description but feel a sense of resonance with the themes, youโre very welcome to join. This is less about a strict criteria and more about shared curiosity and midlife-season questions.
