$15/10with Bernie Slater & Mini Trace
4 Eyed Water Boy is the musical moniker of singer songwriter Martin Bergs whose raw acoustic driven sound blends folk, punk and protest into songs that dive deep into the pressures of modern life, love, loss, digital connection, inequality, and injustice. His lyrics are articulate, honest and unflinching. It’s protest music with bite and purpose, shining a light on human behaviour while refusing to lose hope.
With a background in geomorphology and water resources and a life lived observing the world‘s contradictions, Bergs brings a sharp eye and poetic edge to his music. Fresh from powerful performances at the Mullumbimby Roots festival and the final Nimbin Roots festival he’s been invited back to Mullumbimby in 2026.
Two EP’s ‘There See!’ and ‘Surfing the Subversive’ with full band versions are available on all common streaming services until a better option is found.
Bernie Slater brings sharp wit and folk-punk fire to the stage. His songs hit like confession and commentary all at once—funny, biting, and uncomfortably relatable. Bernie dissects suburban politics, pop culture, and the struggles of being human. Also a visual artist and circus enthusiast, he spins chaos and craft into something raw, poetic and disarmingly honest.
Mini Trace is a side quest of the singer/songwriter duo from Canberra band, The Trace. Maggie and Brad write on the full spectrum from slice of life to social commentary, from upbeat, catchy earworms to faux punk outrage at modern day inconveniences. Expect a strong groove, tight harmonies and thoughtful lyrics with boppy, folky, acoustic versions of the larger band's original indie rock songs.
