About this Event
An Autumn themed baking class with Chef Taniyaa Khanna, The Passionate Baker, who is a trained chef with roots from the Culinary Institute of America. She is joining our portfolio of teachers who are amazing at their craft!
You will learn 4 different desserts in this class and will be immersed in a hands-on approach to the basics of making these Fall specialties amazing!
1. Pumpkin Crème Brûlée
A silky pumpkin custard delicately baked in a water bath for even texture, finished with the classic torching technique to caramelize the sugar topping. This refined dessert highlights custard-making and sugar caramelization skills.
2. Apple Walnut Cake
A rustic yet elegant cake prepared using the creaming method for a tender crumb, layered with fresh apples and toasted walnuts for depth of flavor and texture. Demonstrates the art of balance between fruit moisture and nut crunch in baking.
3. Maple Shortbread Cookies
Buttery dough is carefully cut and shaped before baking, creating a delicate texture that melts in the mouth. This cookie emphasizes precision in mixing and minimal handling to preserve shortbread’s signature crumbly richness.
4. Pumpkin S’mores Cookies
Soft pumpkin cookie dough is folded with chocolate, graham cracker pieces, and marshmallows, then baked until golden with gooey centers. This playful treat showcases dough blending and incorporation of mix-ins for both structure and indulgence.
