Join us for a coastal get away filled with history, horses, and harbor views as we travel to the coast of Maryland.
Day 1 (Tuesday) We depart Farragut (JCPenney, 11534 Parkside Dr) at 6am and Knoxville (Walmart, 3051 Kinzel Way) at 7am, and Bristol at 9am to begin our coastal adventure. There will be a stop for lunch on your own in the Roanoke, VA area before arriving at our hotel in the Ocean City, MD area by 7pm.
Day 2 (Wednesday) We begin our morning with breakfast at our hotel then depart for Assateague Island National Seashore where we enjoy a sightseeing tour aboard the Assateague Explorer Pony Watching Cruise. Led by an experienced captain with local knowledge, we cruise along the backside of Assateague where we see wildlife and the legendary wild horses. Lunch will be on your own in Chincoteague's charming town center where you will also have free time to shop. Tonight we enjoy a delicious seafood dinner before returning to our hotel by 7pm.
Day 3 (Thursday) Today begins with a visit to the Fenwick Lighthouse that dates back to 1858 making it the oldest lighthouse in Delaware. Next we visit the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum on the Boardwalk. Originally built in 1891, here we will get to step back in time and explore the history of Ocean city and it's role in US Life-Saving Service. The remainder of our day will be free to explore the area and enjoy the beach.
Day 4 (Friday) We say good bye to the Atlantic Coast after one final breakfast at our hotel. We depart at 8am to begin our return trip home to East Tennessee. There will be stops along the way for lunch on your own and restroom breaks. We plan to return to Bristol by 6pm, Knoxville 8pm, and Farragut 9pm.
