🍋 3rd Ward Market Presents: Little Bosses & Lemonade – A Youth Business Takeover!

It’s not your average back-to-school event — it’s a youth-powered market experience! Join us for a fun, fresh, and inspiring day as young entrepreneurs (ages 6–16) set up their own lemonade stands and showcase their creativity, hustle, and business savvy. But this isn’t just about selling lemonade — it’s about learning what it really takes to be a BOSS. This unique experience gives kids a hands-on opportunity to run their own business, manage money, and learn customer service skills, all while working side by side with their families. Parents will play a key role, helping their children plan, prepare, and execute their stand as a team. The community will vote for the best lemonade, but our official 3rd Ward Market judges will be looking at more than just flavor — they’ll evaluate how well each family works together, manages their business, and brings their entrepreneurial spirit to life. After the competition, we’ll gather inside for a powerful and engaging panel featuring local business professionals who will speak on child entrepreneurship, money management, and the importance of starting financial education early. This event is not only a celebration of youth innovation, but also a call to parents who have dreams of entrepreneurship themselves — because building business mindsets starts at home.

Little Bosses & Lemonade isn’t just a fun challenge — it’s a learning opportunity and a family-building experience. Each participating child (with support from their parent/guardian) will:

• Plan and run their own lemonade stand
• Practice money management and business basics
• Learn how to market, serve, and engage with customers
• Compete in a friendly lemonade challenge where community guests vote for the best lemonade, while our official 3rd Ward Market Judges evaluate each team’s teamwork, branding, business execution, and customer experience

This is a collaborative challenge for kids and parents alike — a chance to strengthen bonds while introducing real-world lessons around entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership, and financial responsibility.

Please note that Sophi’s Chateau has limited parking, so early arrival is highly encouraged to secure a convenient spot!

🔸 Recommended Parking Options:

Southmore Blvd (between San Jacinto & Fannin): Street parking is available along both sides of the building. Some areas may be metered or free—please check signs.

If full: Head one block over and park along Southmore Blvd & Caroline St. These streets also offer free and metered parking options.

🚫 Vendor & Guest Notice:

All vendors and event activities will be set up in the curved driveway area of Sophi’s Chateau. For safety, please do NOT park in that driveway.

⚠️ Safety Reminder:

If you park near Caroline and Southmore, use caution when crossing the street, as it is located near the MetroRail line. Watch for oncoming trains and traffic.

The 3rd Ward Market is a signature event powered by Htown’s Experience Marketing, created to spotlight and support small businesses across the Houston area. Originally launched in 2022 at a local winery in the heart of 3rd Ward, the market was born out of a mission to provide visibility and vending opportunities for entrepreneurs—especially those without a storefront.
