Founded by self-taught maker Bev, Mother of Metal was born from a desire to step out
of the corporate world and build a creative, values-driven livelihood rooted in intention,
sustainability, and craftsmanship. Bev has over 20 years of jewelry-making experience
and has been creating full-time since 2012.
Every piece is designed and handcrafted by Bev using hand tools and small
equipment, often incorporating materials gathered through beachcombing, thrifting,
and creative reuse. No two pieces are ever identical, and each is made slowly and
deliberately as a form of meditation, intention-setting, and wearable art.
Mother of Metal is known for its earth-honouring approach, meaningful designs, and
commitment to keeping usable materials out of landfills. The studio serves crystal
