TRIP DATES: August 15,16 Get ready to explore some of the most memorable riding roads in SoCal! This unique 2 day/night trip & ride will kick off on Friday August 15 from the CHEVRON station located at 3880 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena. Riders further south of the meetup spot that do not want to come to the general Pasadena meetup spot can join in on Friday as we make our way down south. Please group up with others near you, choose a gas station that is easy off/on the freeway along our route, and leave the information as a comment on this page so we can swing by and scoop you up! TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF ACTIVIIES: FRIDAY - We will head out from the CHEVRON station at 3880 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena. The route consists of 210 East to the 15 South as we explore a few of our favorite canyons including Santiago, Live Oak, the world famous Cook's Corner, Ortega Highway, and Lake Elsinore as we take some sweet twisties towards San Juan Capistrano at which point we’ll jump back on the 5 South for the short ride to our hotel in San Marcos. Once there, we check-in to our rooms, enjoy the afternoon, maybe even head out on a short night ride to explore downtown San Diego! SATURDAY - We will enjoy complimentary breakfast at our hotel before heading out to the most popular riding roads in San Diego County starting with the venerable Palomar Mountain. We’ll first head up the South Grade which is very technical in nature before taking East Grade, along the way, stopping at some scenic vistas. Then, onward to Julian! Up next, Sunrise Highway through Mt. Laguna where we will encounter wide open sweeps through scenic mountain country close to the Mexican border before jumping back on the highway for the ride back to camp. This is the smuggler's run! SUNDAY - Will be freestyle and riders can depart as they wish via freeway or whatever route they choose. GROUP ACCOMMODATIONS: Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Marcos centrally located. Room options include 1 king room or 2 queen if you rather share the room and split the cost. This property is excited to welcome members of our organization and will offer SCSB members a group discounted rate of $199/night for either room. A limited number of rooms have been blocked exclusively for SCSB members and will be booked on a first come, first served basis. HOW TO BOOK YOUR ROOM: Booking details coming soon! No deposit is required to book your room and cancellation policy is 2-weeks prior to arrival. If reservation is not cancelled 2-weeks prior to arrival, a night's stay will then be charged to the credit/debit card on file. Some of our South Coast members may elect to ride out Saturday morning and join the ride which is fine. You are also free to stay at another cheaper hotel nearby, it's all up to you however, please only RSVP if you are serious in attending this trip & ride. No last minute cancellations or no-shows because this will impacts our reputation as a group with other entities involved. If you attended this special meetup last year you know summer is absolutely the most desirable time to visit San Diego County and I think this trip & ride will be very memorable for us all.
