About this Event
Join us for the 3rd Annual MLK Day SING-IN: "We Who Believe In Freedom..." at Crenshaw United Methodist Church! Let's come together - in person and online - to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through music and congregational singing!
This year, we celebrate the iconic musical genius of Civil Rights activist & academic, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon (1948-2024), a founding member of the *SNCC Freedom Singers. The student group musically supported Dr. King and others at numerous protest rallies and marches (including the historic 1963 March On Washington) and were jailed numerous times for singing songs of freedom and unity. Dr. Reagon later formed Sweet Honey In The Rock, the internationally acclaimed Grammy-winning acapella womens ensemble.
Don't miss out on this special gathering as we raise our voices together in recognition of Dr. King's messages of equality and justice for all. Families are welcome! See you there!
