About this Event
Black Physicians of Utah' Mental Wellness Alliance presents her 3rd Annual Back to School Mental Health Event!
Join us at the Sorenson Unity Center for a day dedicated to promoting mental well-being as students head back to school. This in-person event will feature workshops, activities, and resources to support mental health for students of all ages. Parents, Highschoolers, Middle Schoolers are welcome!
This event will be exploratory with our Keynote Speaker, Michelle Love-Day.
Michelle Love-Day has been an educator for 21 years and has previously served as a Literacy Coach, Principal, and Associate Director of Educational Equity for Granite School District. Since 2020, she has also worked as a Consultant in Educational Language Services within the Teaching and Learning Department of Jordan School District. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Black students in Utah, Michelle founded a virtual academy, RISE driven by her passion to create student-centered, equitable schools where every student feels welcomed, valued, and supported by caring, trustworthy adults.
Michelle adopts hands-on learning, genuine encouragement, and authenticity, and has empowered many students to overcome barriers to success. She has also collaborated closely with educators to inspire, motivate, and uplift their practice. As you prepare to return to school, Michelle looks forward to spending the day with you, offering insight and energy to help you start the year strong.
Come together with the community to learn, share, and connect. Let's prioritize mental health as we kick off the new school year!
Registration is only $5.
