You're Invited - First Family Shelter for Fathers and Children, 3nd Anniversary Celebration, Open House and Tour (Sunday, May 5th, 2024)

The Family Shelter for Fathers and Children is Canada's first emergency residential facility for all male identified victims of domestic abuse and family violence, and their children.

Join us on Sunday, May 5th from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM either onsite or online to learn about and participate in a tour at this first-of-its-kind facility. Featuring remarks by staff, residents and our City Councillor. Plus: An exciting announcement about our next father and child shelter!

The Family Shelter opened on the first day of spring, March 21, 2021. Since that time, over 200 resident families have been welcomed into our emergency residence during these two years. Men and children have found safety and have been supported as they heal from trauma, find new employment and opportunities, and transition into permanent, safe housing.
