Courses starting every week from the 21st of June 2023, and the first 7 sessions are remote delivered online.
Course Name: Intro to 3D Printing, 3D CAD and Digital Manufacturing Skills Bootcamp(Level 3 Equivalent) Hybrid delivery includes free 3D printer
60 hours guided + 20 hours self-study (part time).
Flexible 'carousel' type learning to allow study around work and childcare commitments.
Aimed at new users to 3D Printing, 3D CAD & Digital Manufacturing (Senior apprentices, graduates, technicians, Project Managers, business leaders and those looking for a career change).
Each learner get a FREE Creality Ender 3 3D Printer that they build and get to keep after the course.
3D 360’s Skills Bootcamps (funded by the Department for Education) focuses on providing an understanding of the capabilities of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), 3D CAD, Digital manufacturing & Industry 4.0 technologies.
Our Skills Bootcamps and are flexible (over 2 - 16 weeks) part-time modular rapid digital upskill training courses which are open to Self-employed, unemployed, Employed and career changers in Cumbria, Cheshire & Warrington, Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
Learners need to be aged 19 or over on the 31st August 2023 and either live or work in the regions.
Each learner can access one set of Skills Bootcamps funding per year (1st April to 31st March)
All training days run from 09:30am to 15:30pm.
Lancashire & Merseyside
• Total cost to the employer will be £360 per learner for SMEs (Ex. VAT)
• OEMs / over 250 employees £1080 per learner, (Ex. VAT)
• Unemployed and Self-employed total cost is £0 per learner
Cheshire & Warrington
• Total cost to the employer will be £360 per learner for SMEs (VAT Exempt)
• OEMs / over 250 employees £1080 per learner, (Ex. VAT)
• Unemployed and Self-employed total cost is £0 per learner
Greater Manchester & Cumbria
• Total cost to the employer will be £350 per learner for SMEs (Ex. VAT)
• OEMs / over 250 employees £1050 per learner (Ex. VAT)
• Unemployed and Self-employed total cost is £0 per learner

Module 1 - Intro to Industry 4.0
• What is industry 4.0 & the history behind it?
• Digital Manufacturing
• Digital twinning and the factory of the future
Module 2 - Robotics
• History of industrial Robotics and the roll they will play within industry 4.0
• Industrial Robots v Cobots
• Robotics for logistics and construction
Module 3 - IoT (Internet of Things)
• IoT (Internet of Things) What is it and applications for it?
• How to interpret live or big data for production purposes
• System integration and connectivity
• Retrofittable IoT for system monitoring, preventative maintenance and efficiency,
• Smart bearings, gearboxes, motors, actuators, CPU and sensor monitoring systems
Module 4 - Electric Vehicles
• Types of electric / hybrid vehicles available.
• Maintenance and repair on high voltage electrical systems.
• Identifying different types of electric vehicle charging systems and connections.
• Safety requirements for vehicles with electric drive systems or energy storage devices in their work environment.

Module 6 - Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality

Module 7 - What is Additive manufacturing & How to generate income from AM & 3D CAD
• Compares the 7 Additive Manufacturing processes on their technology, output and applications.
• Outlines the reasons why we would choose one particular technology over another.
• How to generate income from AM
Module 8 - 3D Printer Practical Build - Day 1 (Includes Free 3D Printer)
• What is 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing?
• Build a fully functioning 3D printer, 3D Printer Key Components
Module 9 - 3D Printer Operations and maintenance - Day 2 (Includes Free 3D Printer)
• What slicers are and how they work / 3D Model slicing
• Where to get stl files, Hands on experience of using Cura slicer software,
• Slicing upgrades / model files, 3D print upgrades.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance.
Module 10 - 3D Computer Aided Design (3D CAD)
• The fundamental commands and first principles that all 3D CAD systems follow
• How to design for 3D printed components
• How is 3D CAD used in engineering.
• Z-Brush Digital Sculpting
Module 11 - Unemployed learners only - Wrap around employment support inc. CV review, Mock Interviews and Back to work plan (where applicable)
• Revisit topics where individual learners require additional training.

• Interview days for unemployed learners
